A life-sized bronze statue of Amy Winehouse stands at the central point of Camden’s Stables Market, as a tribute to the late, great singer and Camden girl.
The statue was designed and created by artist Scott Eaton and features Amy’s recognisable beehive hairstyle. It was unveiled on 14 September 2014 which would have been Amy Winehouse’s 31st birthday. Scott Eaton is an artist, designer, and photographer from London. He created the sculpture in the true spirit of Amy Winehouse.
Janis, Amy’s mother, said upon its first appearance, “Camden is Amy’s place, it’s where she belongs.”
The Amy Winehouse statue is a must-see for visitors to Camden Town, and as a result is an excellent photo opportunity. Fans regularly place flowers and put wristbands on the statue to pay their respects.
