Cecil Sharp House in Camden Town is a dedicated location for folk arts, and is an important cog in the English folk wheel.
The center is owned by the English Folk Dance and Song Society, and is located in a Grade II listed building.
It is also home to the impressive Vaughan Williams Memorial Library, which is England’s national collection of folk music and dance. It was founded in 1930 as the personal book collection of Cecil Sharp.
They regularly put on events in their halls, including music, acting, and dancing. Their halls are also available for hire for your own events. Their workshops are great for young and old – learn to play a banjo or take part in the family barn dance, and their regular exhibitions are worth a visit.
Cecil Sharp House has history and is a short walk from Camden Market on Regent’s Park Road.
