The Running Stormtrooper to Spread a Smile in Camden Stables Market for Charity Fundraiser

This Thursday (12 April), between 12 and 3pm, Jez Allinson – an officer in the RAF, will run a half marathon on a treadmill in The Stables in Camden Market dressed as a Star Wars Stormtrooper to raise funds for local charity Spread a Smile and Make a Wish. Spread a Smile organise for entertainers to visit seriously and terminally ill children and teenagers in London hospitals, Make a Wish brings to life, life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Thursday’s half marathon is ahead of Allinson’s London Marathon run on 22 April, after which he will embark on a 100 km run at Pinewood studios on 17 May, which could take up to 20 hours. All runs will be carried out dressed in his full Stormtrooper outfit.

Moved by Spread A Smile’s appeal during last year’s Children In Need, which featured the very brave Vanessa Moss undergoing treatment for Neuroblastoma, Jez Allinson decided to run the lengthy distance of 100km to raise awareness and donations for this worthwhile cause. Why is he running dressed as a Stormtrooper? A life-long Star Wars fan, Jez is no stranger to the Stormtrooper costume, having run multiple marathons in the outfit and clocked up 2.1 million views on the site LAD Bible when a clip of him fully “Stormtroopered” went viral.

Head down to Camden Market on Thursday, make a donation and cheer Jez on, or if you can’t make it to the Market, you can donate and support Jez Allinson online.
