The Poster Workshop will be printing their designs in the Old Art Gallery in Camden Market. You can also buy them, and walk away with something special.
Starting out in a basement in Camden Town in the year of 1968, The Poster Workshop printed silkscreen posters using activists’ slogans to turn the power of words and images into art.
At the time, before the modern-day techniques of spreading the word, posters played a vital part in political messaging. The more visual or meaningful the better.
This Mayday weekend sees the 50-year celebration since The Poster Workshop began. They will be showing their 8ft recreations of their political posters in an exhibition in Camden Market. Their brand new book will be available to buy too, definitely worth picking up for anyone interested in history and design.
Shopping totes and t-shirts will be available to buy, and A2 and A3 posters will be made on-site for you to take a piece of British antiquity home.
Visit Camden Market from April 28th – May 1st 2018 for this free exhibition.
