One of Camden’s favourite bars, The Lock Tavern, is to close.
The Lock Tavern, on Chalk Farm Road opposite the Stables Market has been in the area since 2004. They have also hosted many bands and well-known DJ’s, including Franz Ferdinand, Tame Impala and Warpaint.
It has been sold for what is understood to be a multi-million Pound amount.
A closing party will be held on August 27th 2018 which is a bank holiday Monday.
This comes at a time where live music venues in the UK are closing at a rapid rate – in fact a third of music venues across the UK have closed in the past 10 years.
We’ll be sad to see The Lock Tavern close its doors for the final time. Get yourself down there before it all ends and raise a glass to the wonderful bar staff.
