Government fund will help to keep Camden’s legendary performance venues open.

In a highly anticipated move, the UK government has announced a £1.57bn support package for venues. These include music venues, performance theatres, museums, galleries, and other cultural venues.

This comes just a few days after venues and performers took to social media with messages of asking for support for the venues. It seems to have worked.

Many of Camden’s music venues, including Jazz Café and Fiddler’s Elbow, had turned to crowdfunding to help them to be able to reopen.

Venues will be facing a questionable time when they do reopen, with strict social distancing measures in place limiting the number of people who can attend shows.

The government support will be available to venues who apply, and in the form of a grant or a loan. Great news for the venues.
