In true irreverent Camden Market style, a 10m inflatable giant aubergine installation was unveiled in London to mark the launch of its new restaurant and dining area.
Throughout North London, free aubergines are being handed out to either take home and cook, or exchange at one of the North Yard’s restaurants for one of the 400 free seasonal dishes giveaway.
Showcasing the creative culinary talent of the restaurants, cafes and delis across the North Yard – the aubergine special dishes will be available throughout the installation’s month long residency. Dishes range from Baba G’s aubergine inspired burger with deep-fried spiced aubergine in a tumeric-tempura batter with a coriander salsa and Baba G’s chilli sauce, Rudy’s Dirty Vegan Diner’s Mindful Moussaka Burger & Aubergine Fries (spicy double ‘lam’ patty, crispy-fried smoked aubergine, melted smoked cheeze, marinara, basil pesto, black olives), The Cheese Bar’s ‘Aubergine Melt’ and there’s even an aubergine cocktail, courtesy of FEST, to name but a few.

The World famous Camden Market is celebrating its 45th anniversary with the revitalisation of its North Yard. Beautifully restoring the space and its surrounding former horse hospital buildings, the North Yard is to become the ‘Camden Market’ for the local Londoner. Shop for fine food produce and Great Taste Awards exclusives, see food and drink artisans at work – from handmade fudge to butchery and cocktail masterclasses – or enjoy restaurant style dining from some of London’s finest street food pop ups turned bricks and mortar sites. Located at the foot of the Amy Winehouse memorial statue and accessible via the Chalk Farm Road entrance, Camden Market’s North Yard is an opportunity for Londoners to enjoy a quieter, slower paced Market experience. The North Yard will be a constantly evolving hub, with further new openings scheduled for later in 2019.
Visit the market to make the most of the food specials!
