Monday 8th April is your chance to declare a climate emergency in Camden. Get together!
Transition Kentish Town say:
Please come to a RALLY in support of a declaring a Climate Emergency in Camden.
When: Monday 8th April 6.00pm
Where: Outside the Crowndale Centre, Eversholt Street, NW1 1BD
We would like to show Camden Council that we need action to be taken as a matter of urgency, to reduce carbon emissions and other greenhouse gases, and to make plans to achieve zero carbon by 2030. This is necessary to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees, which the United Nations IPCC report of October 2018 says we must do if we are to avoid catastrophic climate change. This is still possible, with very ambitious action from national and local governments, individuals and communities.
Cllrs. Berry and Harrison are tabling a motion to declare a Climate Emergency at the Council Meeting at 7.00pm, and we want to offer every possible encouragement to the Council to accept this.
Please bring banners, friends and anyone you know who feels strongly about this issue.
This is your change to make a statement, and show that you care about the future to reduce emissions & plan to achieve zero carbon by 2030.
