Camden Town Station is one of the busiest stations on the London Underground network, and it’s due to increase massively in volume.

The major upgrade to Camden station has been backed by 97 percent of respondents to a public discussion on the suggestions. There were over 600 responses to the consultation.

Camden station sees over 30 million users each year and with a 40 percent rise expected, plans are being put in place. Because of the commuter traffic plans are already in place to make the most of what already exists, like making it exit only at busy times.

TFL (Transport for London) will make plans to design a new entrance, and how the construction will be managed. Work is planned to start in 2021 and be completed by 2026.

We have seen fantastic support from the local community for our plans to make the station more spacious, comfortable and equipped to support the growing demand in the area.” Mark Wild, managing director of the London Underground.
