The 80-year-old town hall will be moving to a new location for a 3-year period while refurbishment works is undertaken.

All services at the town hall will move while essential refurbishment work takes place. The major refit will improve the building’s sustainability and environmental performance, reduce long-term running costs and transform the way some of the space is used. During the works, services will move to the below locations:

From Monday 13 August: Crowndale Centre, 218 Eversholt Street, NW1 1BD

  • birth registrations
  • death registrations
  • duplicate certificate applications
  • citizenship ceremonies.

Electoral and committee services, along with the Council Chamber and committee rooms for all council meetings will also move to the Crowndale Centre from Monday 20 August onwards.

From Monday 23 July: Tavistock House, Tavistock Square, WC1H 9JB

  • nationality checking service
  • settlement checking service
  • nationality document return service
  • European passport return service
  • taking notices for marriages and civil partnerships.

The town hall refurbishment is scheduled to be completed by Autumn 2021.
