Camden Town is quite a big area, with many things to see and do. That also means there is more than one market. When people refer to ‘Camden Market’, in most cases they are referring to the Stables Market. Don’t be one of the many tourists who see the first market, and think you’ve been to Camden Market! Here’s a little explanation of getting to Camden Market.

Firstly, you’ll come out of Camden Town underground station (this is on the Northern Line – the black line if you look at the tube map). Camden Market and station is in Zone 2. When you come out of the escalator, turn right. Then once through the gates, turn right again. To get to Stables Market, carry on walking up Chalk Farm Road, walked past Inverness Street Market on the left and the green and yellow sign on the right that says Camden Market, past the pub The Bucks Head, until you see the famous bridge with Camden Lock on it. The Stables Market entrance is to the left of that.

One a Sunday, as it gets busy, you can’t enter Camden Town underground station, so you’ll have to walk up to Chalk Farm station, or down the hill to Mornington Crescent. This is for customer safety, so an extra five minute walk is all it takes.

It’s certainly worth visiting the Camden Lock Market, the shops on the high street, and the little boutique stores in the side streets.

If you’re looking for the post code of Camden Town, and the Stables Market in particular, use NW1 8AH.

Enjoy your time in Camden Town!
