Coronavirus is causing mayhem across the globe, the UK, London, Camden. Everywhere. A COVID-19 Charity Fund has been set up.

The Charity Fund is aimed to help the vulnerable and homeless during these challenging times.

The purpose of the fund is to award grants of up to £6,000 to not-for-profit organisations who provide services to people living in the borough of Camden. Funding will be made available to registered charities, social enterprises and constituted community groups who need financial support as a result of the COVID-19 Crisis, and to cover the costs of the following:

1. Retrospective funding for organisations who have incurred additional costs supporting communities, for example the costs associated with moving face-to-face services online.
2. Retrospective grants to cover loss of income due to the COVID-19 Crisis, for example the cancellation of a fundraising event.
3. Grants related to an increase in demand for services due to the COVID-19 Crisis, for example an increase in demand for food poverty services.
4. Grants related to an anticipated increase in demand for services, for example anticipated need for mental health, employment or homelessness support.

Grants awarded in the first round will be for up to £6,000 and will be made available to any social enterprise, constituted group or registered charity that benefits people in Camden.

Organisations that benefit people beyond Camden are welcome to apply, but they should apply for the costs related to their Camden beneficiaries, for example, if your organisation has been helping people from Camden and Islington to receive food packages and cost of this has been £4,000, we encourage you to apply for the proportion of this being spent in Camden.
