The Black Cap, Camden’s famous bar and venue for the LGBTQ+ community, has received some potentially great news.

There has been an agreement between the freeholder and a community group to possibly reopen The Black Cap as a venue with cabaret performances. The Black Cap Foundation, in support of the venue on 171 Camden High Street, met with freehold owners to discuss the options.

Over the past decade, London has lost more than half of its LGBT+ venues, including Camden’s The Black Cap. Now, Camden could well get one of these venues back.

The venue, which closed down in April 2015, has a long history as being an integral part of Camden Town. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Alex Green of the Black Cap Foundation on and Paul Tallentyre of Davis Coffer Lyons sales agent on for further details.
